Paul Gardner

Paul is inspired by the natural beauty of the female form and this is reflected in the art work he creates. All of his sculptures are modelled from life studies and this enables Paul to capture the subtleties that give his work life and feeling. His sculptures depict the soft lines of the female figure and employ a mix of restful and dynamic poses to show both the power and serenity of the human form.

Paul was born in Basingstoke in 1972 and as a child moved to Somerset where he continues to live today. He excelled in art whilst at school and then went on to complete a 5 year woodcarving and gilding apprenticeship; specialising in 18th and 19th century ornament; at G&H studios in Somerset.

Paul left G&H studios to establish a bronze casting business, learning and developing the skills required for each process of this ancient technique, including the secretive art of patination. Paul continues to cast all his own work and is involved in every stage of the production process.

Paul's work is exhibited in selected galleries in the UK and has collectors in both Europe and America.
